A New York assemblyman who voted against a medical marijuana bill has been caught with marijuana in his car after being stopped for speeding. Unsurprisingly, he is not ashamed of his hypocrisy in voting to deny sick and dying people pain relief. He has no plans to resign.

His primary opponent had a DUI in 2000 but sees no similarity since he was not an elected official at the time and his “offense didn’t involve drugs.” Stated otherwise, a drug isn’t a drug unless it is the substance of choice for your primary opponent.

This seems to present a good opportunity to harken back to what I wrote in The Freeman in 2008.
